Best US Cities for Commercial Property

Some of the best cities for commercial property actually belong to states that depend on the shipping industry. Cities like Bellevue and Seattle, Washington are two of the best cities to do business. That’s why companies like Costco and Amazon have kept their headquarters in Washington state. Businessmen like Howard Schultz love all the people moving and waving in Seattle while having their coffee to go. People can spend more on coffee and items they want because there is no personal income tax in Washington state either.

Obviously the best places for commercial property would be cities with high population growth, and most of that growth comes from people with high disposable income. Cities like Alexandria, Arlington, and Fairfax in Northern Virginia continue to expand. Many of these people have come from Maryland to work for a technology, pharmaceutical or government company in Washington DC and have a lot of money to spend. If someone has the resources to start a business there, opening a deli or quick sandwich shop where you can get a lot of these travelers on the go could be a very lucrative idea.

Establishing a business such as a retirement home in states like Texas or Florida may not be a bad decision. You also have a wide range of candidates to choose from in the workforce of these two states. Another advantage of establishing this type of business is that Florida and Texas do not tax retirement income. Obviously, this already attracts many seniors to cities like Boca Raton, Palm Beach or Galveston and Forth Worth, respectively.

Cities like Tucson and Phoenix will continue to thrive thanks to their passionate sports fan base. Many people love to shop or eat before going to the game to cheer on their Arizona Wildcats and their beloved Phoenix Suns. It all comes down to the fact that commercial property taxes should remain in the hands of a growth-minded mayor and assessor, since commercial property taxes are assessed locally.

One of the best cities in the state of Alabama to do business is the city of Montgomery. A city tax package was recently passed that allowed businesses like Wal-Mart to enter the city and create a lot of local business around it. If you can establish a store near a Wal-Mart and offer a service where they are below average, the benefits can be enormous. The formula is simple if you keep property taxes low in cities, businesses will come there, and people will have money to buy items. Cities like Montgomery depend on sales and tourism tax, like the city’s zoo, for most of their revenue in any case.

Kids love the zoo, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to set up a toy store or some kind of food and drink stall nearby if you can get permission. That is the most important thing when it comes to commercial properties. Establish a store as close to the people as possible and offer an affordable product; the rest must take care of itself.
