Coronavirus: EU should receive 100 million doses of vaccines per month from April

Ursula Von der Leyen expects “an average of 100 million doses per month during the second quarter, for a total of 300 million at the end of June”.

LEuropean Commission President Ursula von der Leyen predicts that more doses of the Covid-19 vaccine will be made available significantly in the EU from next month.

“From April, the quantities could double again according to the plans of the manufacturers, but also because other vaccines are about to be approved”, affirms the German in the editions of the German newspapers Stuttgarter Zeitung and Stuttgarter Nachrichten, seen by the dpa news agency on Monday. Ursula Von der Leyen expects “an average of 100 million doses per month during the second quarter, for a total of 300 million at the end of June”.

To date, vaccines from three pharmaceutical manufacturers have been approved in the EU Pfizer / BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca. On Thursday, the European Medicines Agency is expected to recommend approval of the vaccine produced by the American Johnson & Johnson.
