Home Run Hitter – 1 strength training drill for baseball hitters to build serious power!

Hitting power in baseball is a skill that doesn’t come easy. All you can do is refine your hitting skills enough to make contact with the ball. After that it’s up to your bat speed and core strength to hit the ball out of the park! I’ve included an exercise that’s sure to help your strength and conditioning training so you build some serious punching power.

I am pleased to introduce you to the One Arm Overhead Kettlebell Snatch! By now, you may have heard of the kettlebell or realized that this ancient strength and conditioning device is second to none when it comes to developing superior core power for athletic performance. The overhead snatch is a strength training exercise that is great for developing core power, shoulder stability, and stimulating your body’s neuromuscular response for athletic explosiveness! This is absolutely perfect for helping you hit home runs.

The lift is performed by you picking up the kettlebell and executing the lift by explosively vertically pulling between your legs and locking it in a held position overhead. There is a necessary amount of proper technique that must be included in learning this specific lift. You must first know how to properly execute the high pull lift. The high pull is performed by forcefully flexing and extending the hips and knees to pull the kettlebell to a high lateral position to the head. In this lateral position, the snatch lift is completed with a vertical punch to the sky with the palm of the hand and locking the elbow and shoulder in place. Once you do 6-8 reps on each arm with a relatively heavy kettlebell, you’ll quickly understand what I mean when I say “power.”

This strength training drill for baseball should be the staple of your training program. This particular strength training exercise will certainly build the muscle you need to take a “deep” one. Remember anyone can train hard but only champions train smart my friend.
