LThe rescue operation for the EU-Mercosur trade agreement (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) continues this Thursday when the Commission will inform the member states about the additional guarantees it is negotiating, in particular on environmental issues (Brazil and deforestation are of course targeted).
Austria said earlier this week by letter to the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU (cenacle of states) that it would not support this agreement, precisely for its incompatibility with the Paris climate agreements.
