Our Living World – Compassion in Action

Our Living World – Compassion in Action

In this world right now, there are unfortunate people and especially children who are trying to survive in extreme poverty, who are dying from malnutrition and disease every few minutes. Some are being sold into slavery, while others live in extreme terror, living in war-torn countries trapped by their doctrines that need to be arrogantly correct, fighting for causes that could see everyone die young. These people would live happily on our meager table scraps, be willing to use our old furniture, be grateful for our threadbare clothing, and happily sleep on the dry floor of our quiet garage.

These people and children are not focused on the latest technologies or advances, as this will not protect them, the latest iPhone will not prevent them from going hungry, and a wireless laptop means nothing when you are illiterate, malnourished, sick or dying. . We need to control ourselves… as we ignorantly take our abundant existence for granted and worry about silly and stupid things that are not life threatening at all.

At what point in spiritual evolution are we going to use your increased consciousness to help humanity and make a difference in these realities? Just because things are the way they are, it doesn’t mean they’re okay, nor does it mean they have to stay the same. We could all do it differently if we were willing!

As a global family united in our common humanity, we keep making the same mistakes. We are still caught up in our own needs to be disturbed to help our humanity. Where is the honor in that? Am I not the only ones who feel and think like this? Where is the wisdom of the ages of humanity within our governments and laws? Where is it written that some will be rich and others poor? Obviously, when we hear words about equality within humanity, it is only a spiritual ideal, when does it become a reality, based on daily life in caring for the well-being of others?

Imagine how easy it would be to change the status quo if only our world leaders were willing.

I care about our world and everyone in it, I care enough to speak my truth, which is why I publish the written words that will hopefully pierce the heart of humanity, enough to help heal their huge wrongs. I spread the words of peace and love, the words of wisdom that the soul is greater than the intellect. That each person has the right to live as they see fit, as long as he does not harm anyone. I believe that one day, it will happen… that the world will become a better place for our children, children, children. That we can somehow sort out the mess our forefathers have made of things and move on from pointless wars and stop poverty, educate the illiterate, and create entirely new ideals and consciousness that truly serve our global community and the humanity in general.

Join my team as we compassionately heal the world; It takes one act of love and kindness at a time! A practice that we could all adopt and add to our daily lives. What act of compassion have you done today? We want to know. If you have a small foundation or charity working for a better world, we want to know about it. Get in touch with S’Roya by email and share your story. How do YOU contribute to making the world a better place for those less fortunate?

Siddhartha Foundation UK, Real Compassion in Action

I recently met a very interesting lady named Dechen Chodron who mentioned a Foundation that she and a few others had set up to help poor and homeless children who were stranded in the Himalayas. Dechen told me how the Siddhartha Foundation UK was established in 2006 by a group of 5 friends living in Somerset County, after being inspired by Lama Khenpo Chimed Rinpoche, a kind, wise and compassionate Buddhist teacher from Kathmandu in Nepal. . Khenpo, (as he is known to his friends and students) has brought peace and comfort to many in both East and West with his Tibetan Buddhist teachings. At the same time, she has spread awareness about the plight of thousands of children of Tibetan origin in Nepal, where extreme poverty prevents them from receiving any form of education in their own tradition.

Bringing hope to Tibetan and Himalayan children in Nepal

The trustees are: Michael and Lynne Orchard, Dechen Chodron and Adrian Beckingham, who have the help and support of Rita Hraiz.

Between them, the founders have skills in charity management, business, education, social work, culture and arts, media and finance.

“We all give of our time for free,” says Dechen, “as do all of the Foundation’s friends and supporters.” This helps keep your overhead to a minimum, thus maximizing the amount of the donation that goes directly to the welfare of children in Nepal.

his mission

We will provide shelter and shelter to some of the poorest children in the Himalayan region of Nepal.

We will provide education, medical care, as well as emotional, physical and spiritual support for these children.

We will work to preserve the ancient wisdom of Tibet with a new generation of young people displaced from their homeland.

We will strive to work with compassion, kindness, clarity, and care at all times.

About Nepal

Nepal is one of the six poorest countries in the world, with more than half the population surviving on less than $1 or 50p a day.

Life expectancy is 10 years less than in India and more than ten children die every hour due to malnutrition and disease.

More than 85% of the population is illiterate.

Nepal is home to tens of thousands of refugees who have escaped dangerously from Tibet over the high passes of the Himalayas. Despite their extreme poverty, Nepalis are famous for their hospitality, generosity and warmth of spirit.

The Siddhartha School believes in Love, Care, Health, Education, the most precious gifts for a child from the Himalayas. With the help of some generous benefactors, Khenpo has purchased land near Kathmandu and has begun construction on a school, which will eventually be able to house around 150 students. The school is headed by its founder, Lama Khenpo Rinpoche, who personally oversees all aspects of student welfare and the running of the school.

Having seen the first buildings open with an initial intake of 80 students, the decision was made to actively support the project, establishing the UK Siddhartha Foundation to work closely with our Nepali partners. The Siddhartha Nepal Foundation, which is a non-profit registered relief fund. the project continuously.

The Dalai Lama of Tibet has personally endorsed the work of Lama Khenpo to help the children of the Himalayas in this way….

Quote: “I really appreciate the faith and dedication that Lama Khenpo has given to establishing this school where dharma can flourish. I, the Dalai Lama, call on everyone to support this project with all possible efforts. I am sending my prayers for the fulfillment of all the noble wishes of Lama Khenpo” HH Dalai Lama.

The Siddhartha Foundation School located near Kathmandu brings a ray of hope and light to those children who are lucky enough to get a place. All students come from impoverished backgrounds where basic healthcare and education are not available to them. Many of the students are orphans and for them the school offers a safe environment that is nurturing and nurturing. The school takes care of all the needs of the students, from food and clothing to health care expenses and the cost of their educational materials. The students learn many things; daily lessons consist mainly of English, Nepali and Tibetan, Mathematics, Meditation, Philosophy, Tibetan Art and Culture, and Physical Education.

At the moment the Siddhartha school is for boys only, but soon (when funds allow) a school for girls will be built as they believe in equal rights for both sexes. The Siddhartha Foundation is also seeking funds for the construction of a clinic, infirmary and dispensary, which will be available and will benefit both students and villagers. I encourage all of you to see the great work of this foundation and support them in their mission by either sponsoring a child or donating.
