Princess Eugenie is shaking up tradition again with this new photo of her son

A “Royal Baby” already like no other. While Kate Middleton’s children wrote Mother’s Day greeting cards, Princess Eugenie couldn’t resist the urge to share a snap of her newborn baby, August, on March 14. And the young mother has yet brought a little personal touch that breaks with the traditions of the British royal family.

“I’m so happy”

When announcing the birth of August Philip Hawke, born February 9, the Princess and her husband Jack Brooksbank had appeared with their boy wrapped up in a blue blanket with matching beanie. As many British media have noted, it is customary for parents of royal babies to buy their supplies from GHHurt & Son, the old Nottingham house that supplies the iconic white blankets for the royal family.

This time, Princess Eugenie immortalized her son delicately stretched out in the bushy grass, dressed in bunny-shaped slippers and whale-patterned trousers. “I’m so happy to be August’s mom and as you can see I’m enjoying my first Mother’s Day”, she wrote on Instagram. A moment of intimate life which also contrasts with the mystery which often surrounds the first months of the “Royal Babies”. At 30, Eugenie of York is already establishing herself as a trendy mom.
