It is an absolute mammoth program that is ahead of the swimming professionals and a Carinthian wants to demonstrate his class. We’re talking about Heiko Gigler, who at the state championships broke the limit for the short course world championship in Abu Dhabi in December over the 50 and 100 meter freestyle as well as the 100 individual medley. “It takes a load off your heart when it works so early, especially since things are going very quickly for us. Now I can approach the matter more freely ”, says the 24-year-old from Malta, who trains intensively for 22 hours a week in Graz in order to get one step closer to his big dream, the Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo 2021.
