Value Added Services for Web Marketing Consultants

When it comes to helping businesses offline, even if they already have a website, there are many ways to help them get more out of their niche opportunity online.

In many cases, they may have it all, but don’t understand how important mobile is becoming, and you may spot opportunities to help them create a mobile version of their site or help with text-based mobile marketing.

The world is at your disposal when it comes to options.

If they have a decent budget, you can even set up pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns for them. That’s another area in its own right again.

If you’re not entirely sure you can deliver strong marketing, you may want to specialize further and simply offer video landing pages. This is something that many web designers and search marketers cannot do. There are many ways to deliver videos for clients.

You can record short interviews with them about your business or services; all you need is a basic camcorder and you’re good to go. Even if you don’t have one, they might. Even if they only have a webcam built into their laptop, that might be enough.

I personally have 2 devices that I use, the first being an HD Flip Mino – the handy little camcorder that’s quick and easy to use and simply plugs directly into a computer’s USB port. The second is a Sony camcorder. In fact, I prefer the Flip because it’s much faster and easier to use.

I also have a camera tripod and some lighting to get a better result, but in most cases you can do without.

The other way to offer video is to make screen recordings and/or use still images and then use a program like Animoto to create a video with music over it.

Those options alone will give you a LOT of value to offer customers.

It’s really easy for people to make this much more complicated than it needs to be.

This is usually the result of a lack of confidence in the value they have to offer, so it’s very important to remember that you don’t decide what your value is – your customer decides.

You may think that setting up a free Google Places account to list a local business isn’t worth much, but if it’s something they want, something that will increase their business, and something they don’t want to spend time understanding – they might perceive that worth hundreds or thousands of dollars.
