How long will you keep throwing money down the drain?

As online advertising revenue plummets due to shrinking budgets, getting your site in the public eye through its organic search engine rankings is now even more vital. Income is no longer available just for spending money on an ad campaign.

So before you spend any more money on an AdWords campaign, sit down and ask yourself:

“Have I done everything possible to improve the SEO of my sites (search engine optimization)?”

If the answer is no, put your credit card back in your wallet and visit your site again. It could pay dividends without costing you a dime.

Does each page of your site contain specific keywords? Are they in the title, in the H1 tags, and once per paragraph on the page? Meta tags instead? Are the image names keyword rich to help image searches? Titles and alts set to images? Is your URL SEO friendly? Does the page URL contain your keyword for that page? Have you used rel=nofollow for links you don’t want to lose linkjuice on? Is your content new and added frequently? Is the URL structure of your site optimized? Are you using 301 redirects to make sure identical pages aren’t counted as multiple pages?

Are you always spreading the word, through forums, social networks, blogs, etc.?

More importantly, are you CONSTANTLY creating non-reciprocal inbound links to your site, and do these links contain anchor text with your keywords in them?

Check that your website is optimized, then build quality, relevant backlinks every day. It’s really that simple.
