There are a plethora of home kits available that teach you how to perm straight hair (permanent straight hair). You must follow these instructions to ensure that your hair stays healthy.
Part your hair into four sections with the help of a rat tail comb that has a pointed end. Start at the back of your head, with a section of hair about 1 inch wide, and you can use hair clips to keep your hair out of the way.
Next, put on some protective gloves and start perming your hair starting at the roots and finishing at the ends. Make sure the perm doesn’t touch your scalp. Work the perm through the hair quickly and thoroughly.
Now repeat the above process for the other sections of your hair, making sure to only work with 1-inch sections at a time. Now flatter your hair. Don’t comb it unless the instructions say to. Next, use the neutralizing shampoo that is usually included in the perm kit itself. It is important to use this shampoo as regular shampoos may not remove all the chemicals from your hair and can damage or cause hair loss.
Apart from this, remember that a perm is a permanent solution and once you use chemicals to straighten your hair, the only way to get rid of the perm is to cut your hair. Make sure you follow the instructions to the letter. If you start to feel burning on your scalp, you should immediately rinse the perm and use the neutralizing shampoo.
