All women use some type of product or tool to style their hair on a daily basis. Whether you prefer an updo, ponytail, straight, curly, braided, etc. we all do something with our hair (at least before leaving the house). The biggest dilemma we find ourselves with is choosing which product or tool we want to acquire to better accompany our hair. For me, I am very picky about the tools I use on my hair because it is so thick. When I do my hair, it takes twice as long as a woman with a normal amount of hair. I have gone through so many different tools hoping to find the right one for the strength and length of my hair without damaging it. It really is a battle! On the plus side, I found a flat iron that is absolutely perfect for my hair type. I’m going to review the CHI Original 1″ Ceramic Styling Iron. Below I’ll discuss what the tool is all about, why it works for me, and other customer reviews. Enjoy!
The CHI Original 1″ Ceramic Flat Iron has a host of components that make it so great, including forty-four ceramic plates, negative ions that add moisture and shine, instant fast heat up to 392 degrees, cord rotary, dual voltage, forty-five watts, and a two-year warranty. Most of you probably don’t even know what that means… neither do I. All I know is that this product is excellent. The fact that the tool only goes to 392 degrees it’s really good because around 400 degrees it will definitely burn your hair and give it that burning smell.While a swivel cord doesn’t seem to matter, it really does.It’s much easier to use a product that has the swivel cord. especially when ironing your hair.One of the best things about this product is that it can curl your hair as well, it’s all in one!You may wonder how you can do that.Well it’s more or less Less due to the swivel cord Allows the tool to be rotated in different directions instead of just up. d downward movement. The tool is said to also style your hair in half the time it would normally take. I personally cannot confirm this because my hair is crazy, but I will post other reviews below.
Personally, I am very picky about the styling tools that I use on my hair. I have super thick hair, but I also don’t want a tool that gets too hot, so it’s very difficult for me to find a flat iron that meets my needs. In fact, I did not buy this tool myself, I got it as a birthday present from my mother. I was a little nervous because it was a smaller iron and I normally use thicker tools that hold more hair when I iron. But it was definitely time for me to buy a new iron, so I gave it a try. It was crazy how quickly the iron heated up to its full temperature to start ironing my hair. I always use the same heat protectant product on my hair as well. When I straighten my hair, I put it in several sections to make it a little easier. Let me tell you, it didn’t take half the time to straighten my hair, but it was pretty close. I felt like I didn’t have to try very hard to straighten my hair, it just straightened perfectly. The best part is that my hair looked super shiny and soft. My hair also didn’t feel burnt or frizzy at all, it actually seemed like it contained some of the fizz. I usually only straighten my hair once a week because I am super crazy about letting my hair rest. But every time I straighten it, I love the result!
On totalbeauty.com Kenya gave an excellent review of the product. I’m not going to write word for word what she said because it’s quite long, but I’m going to write a short summary of what she said. Kenia said the iron is a bit pricey ($69.99) but well worth it. She made her hair very soft, touchable and shiny in which she has super curly hair. One downside is that the iron doesn’t get the ends super straight (because it’s super curly), but the rest of the irons she had didn’t either, so it wasn’t a win or break deal. She loves how the iron has curling features because it makes the price even more worth it since it’s technically a “two in one” type of product. Lastly, Kenya said the big downside to this product is that you can’t change the heat setting. Overall, her opinion of the product was quite positive! Below, Jessica had a few things to say about the product. She got the tool when she was thirteen and now she is nineteen. She said some people replace the product after a few years, but she hasn’t replaced it in six years and it still works great. Jessica said the product gets very hot and glides over her hair without pulling it, leaving it super soft, smooth and shiny. She said the best way to use the flat iron is to section hair into one-inch or smaller sections and apply heat. It seems that Jessica also had a great experience with this product.
All in all, this product is worth the price and drive to get it at Ulta or any beauty store near you. In addition to all the great reviews on this product, the CHI’s components and accessories are excellent and well worth your time and money.
