Seven Signs of a Born Again Christian

Seven Signs of a Born Again Christian

Do you believe that the Bible is the solemn word of God? In John 3:3 Jesus the Son of God said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” There are true Christians and Christians in name only! Satan, the enemy of our souls, is the great teacher of confusion. He loves to confuse a person using his cunning means of lies, deceit and trickery.

Many Paths to Salvation

The mantra throughout today’s world teachings says: “Everyone must see for himself how to attain salvation. There are so many groups, sects, churches, etc. How can I know who is telling the truth or who is lying?” That’s because Satan doesn’t want you to come to a joyful assurance of salvation through Jesus Christ. He makes it hard to figure out what’s true and what’s a lie. If you believe that the Scriptures were written by the light of God through the hand of man, you will know that Jesus calls himself “…the truth…” (John 14:6). Jesus, the truth, cannot lie.

Who is Jesus?

Jesus is the son of God who left his glory in heaven for us, became a man, bled on the cross for our sins, died and then rose again to defeat death! So Jesus, who is the truth, the light and the way, says very clearly: “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” The first thing you should ask yourself then “Am I born again?” Have you experienced the renewal of heart that is necessary to be a child of God? The Bible then gives us seven clear and unmistakable signs of a born again person. Everyone who is born again in Christ possesses these attributes. They are unmistakable!

Sign 1. The first sign is that a person knows that he has been born again! Your complete assurance of salvation is the first joyous result of the new birth. A complete feeling of peace fills the sinner who has come to Christ. Jesus on the cross received the forgiveness of sins and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Then you should feel overwhelmed by the fact that you are now a child of God.

Sign 2. The second sign is that the new life becomes visible! Jesus said, “By their fruits you will know them” (Matthew 7:16). If you are a Christian in name only, then you are ashamed to confess Jesus! You choose the path of least resistance. The output is: “Let’s not discuss it!”. Obviously! How can one speak of a new life in Christ if one does not possess him? “He who has the Son, he has life; and he who does not have the Son of God, he does not have life.” (1 John 5:12). You must accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior and then show your faith to the world so that who you are becomes visible. Take comfort in this short article:

Life will be yours by the power of the Lord,

In the blood of Jesus there is rest and rest,

Your anxious soul will find peace and rest,

Oh, flee to the foot of the cross and be wounded!

Sign 3. The third sign is that a born again Christian has the spirit of prayer! Just as a person only has life if he breathes, he also has spiritual life only if he prays. Someone once said: “Prayer is the breath of the soul.” It is an expression of a godly life. It is an indispensable contact with the living God. Just as we keep in touch with those we love, we should also keep in touch with Jesus, whom we worship.

Sign 4. The born again Christian must hunger for the word of God! Jesus said I am the bread of life; Whoever has the life of God must have the divine food! The word of God is your food, without it you are committing spiritual hunger. Spiritual life cannot be sustained without nourishing the soul. He who has Jesus has life. (1 John 5:12) He who has it, he must also have the word every day. In John 5:39-40, the Lord says, “You search the scriptures, because in them you think you have eternal life, and they are the ones that testify about me. And you do not want to come to me that you may have life.”

Take your will and make it thin;

It will no longer be mine:

Take my heart, it’s yours;

It will be your royal throne!

Sign 5. The fifth sign is that the born again Christian will suffer much adversity. The born again Christian will be attacked by the devil trying to separate them through sin. The true child of Christ will always be on the offensive against the kingdom of darkness! Ephesians 6 is his armor. He knows that God has left him on this earth to tell other souls, who are still bound. Your yes to Jesus at birth of the blood makes you active for Christ; therefore, the devil’s actions against you are still active. Be of good cheer, this is a good sign. Jesus declares in John 16:33 “In the world you will have tribulation; but take heart, I have overcome the world.”

Sign 6. The sixth sign is that the born again Christian will have victory over many temptations and sins. When Christ cried out on the cross “It is finished,” he became the victor over Satan, sin, and death. Now all who are in Christ are also overcomers in Christ. Because if Christ is within you, who can stand against you? The new birth is not a theory of invention, it is not something non-essential, but a tremendous and overwhelming event in a human heart! Jesus Christ, God Himself, through His Holy Spirit takes up residence in such a life. He is victorious again through the born again Christian.

Sign 7. The seventh sign is that the believer awaits with joy and expectation the return of Jesus! We can summarize these wonderful fruits of the new birth in just three thoughts: Salvation – Realization – Expectation

When you are truly born again, you are filled with the Holy Spirit and a living expectation of our Lord’s return takes up residence in your life. As we follow world events, especially in Israel, the Lord is speaking in Luke 21:28 “And when these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.” The Lord is speaking of the signs we see today.

Living in prophetic times

We are living in tremendous times where biblical prophecies are being fulfilled before our very eyes! At any moment we can wait for Jesus! Three hundred verses in the New Testament speak of this glorious event. Are you looking forward to it with joy? It is already midnight in the history of the world. We are suffering the birth pains of a New World Order, terrible judgments will come on earth after Jesus calls us home to his own. In Matthew 25:6 “And at midnight there was a cry: Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him.” And then in verse ten, “And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and they that were ready went into him for the wedding, and the door was shut.” Are you ready? “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
