It is absolutely pathetic and downright criminal for MLM/network marketing companies to promote education for new reps and associates that just doesn’t work. They know it doesn’t work, we know it doesn’t work, so why do they keep teaching us to do the same old thing? Do you realize that all these billion companies teach organizational growth in the same ridiculous way?
Whether you’re with one of the original MLM companies, the old dinosaurs like Avon and Quixtar, that have been around for decades or are just starting out with a brand new company, the techniques taught by the company are nearly identical. There may be a few small differences here and there, but it’s more or less the same. So why do companies continue to train new associates with these pathetic and unproductive techniques? The answer is simple. Because it works!
But wait a minute, you’re telling yourself. Didn’t you just tell me this doesn’t work? Well yes and yes. The old school techniques we all know and hate really do work, but not for you and me. They work fantastic for the companies themselves. Trust me. If companies didn’t benefit from teaching reps this way, do you really think they would continue with these ridiculous business practices?
Our companies are not getting rich off the 2-3% of company associates who are top earners. Even though they get huge paychecks, overrides, bonuses, free trips, and all the other wonderful things that come with this industry, they are not what keeps the company going. It is the other 98% that is trying to “get to the top” that keeps the company so profitable. Think about this for a minute. What’s the first thing you’re told to do as a new rep, regardless of what company you’re with? Write your list of 100 names. Even if only a handful of people on that list become reps or just users of the product, think of the huge number if every single person who signs up does. And then let’s say on average only 10 of those 100 people become users of the product and only 2 build a business around the products… what do they all do? They make their list of 100 and so on and so on. I think you get the picture now.
However, here is the problem. We all know that only a very small percentage of reps, around 2%, succeed at the highest paying levels of all network marketing companies. This is not because most of you are lazy or idiotic. I know I did what everyone told me to do and nothing worked. It is not yet successful because home business training and education is of pathetically low quality.
I believe, without question 100%, that if home business staff were given the training and education they need and deserve, that 98% failure rate would change to a 98% success rate. But I can assure you that it will never happen because they control the market, not people like you and me. But what you can control is how you run your business. No one on this earth can tell you what to do because it’s your business, right? Isn’t that what they’re always preaching?
