Signs that your body needs a diet

I know many of you might be looking in the mirror and saying to yourself, “I look healthy but I don’t think I should be on a diet program.” The truth is that, although health is usually seen from the outside, most of what happens is inside our body.

Many people in North America consider digestive problems to be a nuisance. Ayurveda sees these problems as the being of all health conditions in his life. You run to the pharmacy for antacids, pills to relieve constipation and diarrhea. Pain relief is as close as new Advil! The body tells you your story! Something is wrong and you should listen, but we don’t listen until we’re sick.

Here are signs that your body is letting you know something is wrong.

  1. You are beginning to be overweight. Foods loaded with sweet and salty flavors are earth-promoting foods and can add extra weight to your body. Sweet is also the taste of satisfaction, in Ayurveda sweet foods can be included in the diet to help with satisfaction.

  2. You have a coating on the tongue. When you wake up in the morning, take a look at your tongue. If there is a white, yellow or brown coating on the tongue, the food is not being digested properly and this is the first sign of things to come.

Ayurveda says that digestion and vata must be balanced. Many vata types love green smoothies and salads—two of the worst things a vata person can do to their digestion. They need to eat more cooked food and less salad. The salad is cold and has too much air for the vata constitution.

  4. Frequent diarrhea. This can be a condition that many people live with and do not understand that the fire element is out of balance. Diarrhea can be the body’s way of getting rid of something harmful. It is a good idea to let the diarrhea continue for a few days and clear up on its own, but if the diarrhea may be something that happens regularly, you should look into your diet for foods that irritate the digestive system or balance the fire element in the body. . Many times diarrhea can deplete the body of the water element, creating dehydration and there is no efficient assimilation of food and people are malnourished.
