3 Slow Cooker Sauces You Should Definitely Try

Sauces have a great impact on a dish. Even if your pasta is perfectly al dente or your meat is cooked to perfection, if your pasta sauce or sipping sauce is not good, then the dish is not good.   • 12 roma tomatoes

  • 1 white onion, chopped

  • 4 whole garlic cloves

  • 2 jalapeƱo peppers, seeded and sliced

Cut a small slit in each of the tomatoes and insert 1 clove of garlic. Put the onions in a crock pot, and then place the tomatoes on top of the onions. Add the jalapeno peppers to the pot then season everything with salt and pepper. Cover and cook for 3 hours on high heat. When ready, place the tomatoes in a bowl to cool. Carefully remove the skins (discard the skins), then place them in a blender along with the rest of the ingredients in the crock pot. Mix until you get the desired consistency. Garnish with cilantro before serving.

What do you need:

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 cup soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon water

  • 1/8 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1/8 cup sweet rice wine

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds

  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger

Combine garlic, soy sauce, 1/2 cup water, brown sugar, sweet rice wine, and ginger in a slow cooker. Stir until ingredients are well combined. Cover and cook for 2 hours over low heat. When ready, stir well. In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon water with cornstarch until dissolved. To the mixture in the slow cooker, add the sesame seeds. Stir well. Cover and cook for an additional 15 to 20 minutes over low heat. Serve with vegetables, over meat, or use as a dipping sauce.

What do you need:

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 3 1/2 cups tomato sauce

  • 1 1/2 cups of beer of your choice

  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup yellow mustard

  • 2 tablespoons of vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon of honey

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon of pepper

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Combine onion, ketchup, beer, sugar, mustard, barbecue seasoning, vinegar, and honey in a slow cooker. Season with garlic powder, pepper and paprika. Stir to combine the ingredients well. Cover and cook for 12 hours to overnight on low heat.
