Telenet opts for permanent teleworking and abandons some of its offices

The offices in Mechelen are being phased out. The collective labor agreement stipulates that workers must always spend at least 40% of their time in the office, calculated on a quarterly basis. The rest of the time, they are free to work wherever they want in the European Union, provided they have a suitable workspace. Call center workers can also work from home.

As more and more people telecommute, space is freeing up at the group’s headquarters in Mechelen. Thus, Telenet can reduce the office space used elsewhere in this city. Since 2016, several hundred employees, mainly customer service, have been working in rented offices in Mechelen-Sud, which the company no longer needs.
