Dinamo Zagreb caused the big surprise in the football Europa League. With a 3-0 (0-0) win after extra time, the Croatians threw Tottenham Hotspur from Star coach Jose Mourinho out of the competition and are among the top eight for the first time. The man of the evening was a triple man Mislav Orsic (62nd, 83rd, 106th), who not only secured extra time after the 2-0 defeat in the first leg, but also made perhaps the greatest success in club history there.

The English group opponent of the LASK as well as the sixteenth-finals of the WAC and the favorite looking for the title is well on its way. But then Orsic came and ultimately punished Tottenham’s excessive passivity with his goals. Only the third goal worked for Harry Kane and Co. as a wake-up call, but it was too late. In the finish, Kane and failed Gareth Bale with a good chance of a Dinamo goalie Dominik Livakovic.

Dario Krznar wasn’t up until Tuesday Zoran Mamic followed, who had resigned after a final conviction to a nearly five-year prison sentence for corruption. Mourinho’s Tottenham threatens to miss the Europe Cup ticket for the coming season after the end. In the Premier League you are only eighth.

In Milan it then turned out Manchester United as a more mature team. The recovered star striker changed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic nothing that worked on the side of the Italians from the 65th minute against his ex-employer. Milan was after Paul Pogbas A rogue hit in the 49th minute was called for, but hardly developed any pressure on the English goal. The French world champion initially faked a shot before finding the free corner 172 seconds after coming on from close range.

Arsenal, AS Roma and Granada continue

arsenal has moved into the quarter-finals of the football Europa League as expected. A 0-1 home defeat was enough for the “Gunners” Olympiacos Piraeusto take revenge for last year’s end in the last sixteen a week after the 3-1 away win in Athens. Scored the only goal of the evening Youssef El Arabi with a deflected shot (51st). In the round of the last eight (draw on Friday) are also AS Roma and Granada. Salzburg conqueror Villarreal was against Dynamo Kiev (4: 0 overall) safe. Top striker Gerard Moreno settled the matter practically single-handedly in the 2-0 second leg (13th, 36th).

The Roma acted more confidently than Arsenal, won at Shakhtar Donetsk thanks to a double pack of Borja Mayoral (48th, 72nd) with 2: 1 (0: 0) and after the 3-0 first leg win in the sum of the two games clearly prevailed. For the Norwegian club Moldewho previously Hoffenheim off and on in the group stage too Rapid was hit, however, was the end of the line. The ex-club of Erling Haaland conquered Granada 2-1 (1-0), but was eliminated due to the 2-0 defeat in the first leg.

Unsightly scene in Glasgow

The same fate befell them Glasgow Rangers. Scotland’s champions with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard on the dugout after a home-0: 2 Slavia Prague had to bow with a total score of 3: 1. An unpleasant highlight was a kung-fu kick by Rangers striker Kemar Roofe against the head of goalie Ondrej Kolar in the fight for the ball. The recently substituted Roofe saw red (62nd), Kolar had to be carried unconscious on the stretcher from the field. After yellow-red for Rangers defenders Leon Balogun transformed Nicolae Stanciu the due free kick to the final score (74th). Previously had Peter Olayinka hit (14.).
